Becoming a pro at applying winged eyeliner is a big achievement in itself, while some get to master it within a few days, there are a few others that take longer to learn the technique. Join the dots
This has to be one of the best and easiest ways to apply winged eyeliner, especially if you were a fan of connect-the-dots in your childhood. Taking your liner, dot it along your lash line to create a rough sketch or shape of how you want your winged liner to appear. After you are done doing that, you can start connecting the dots to create a stencil, and then you can fill the rest. Keep the liner thin at first, and if you want to make it look more dramatic, you can thicken it up very carefully.
Use your lower lash line as a guide
Getting your winged liner to look even on both sides is one of the most time-consuming and frustrating things to do. It is a real struggle; however, you can save yourself from all that hassle by using your lower lash line as a guide. Some people struggle with getting the angles right while applying the winged liner, but that won’t be an issue if you use your bottom lash line as a guide. The first step is to line your upper lash line using the liner and after you’re done doing that, you have to create a flick from the very corner of your bottom lash line as if it were its extension. You can connect the flick to the rest of your liner and fill it in.
Easy winged liner trick for hooded eyes
Creating the perfect winged eyeliner on hooded eyes can be a very tricky thing to do, if not done right, the liner will fail to show up, and that’s the last thing you want. The fail-safe way to make your winged liner to show up is by replacing the thin flick with a bold rectangular one. After creating an angled rectangular shape, you can line your upper lash line and create a wing on the other end. Using this technique will make your winged eyeliner to look more defined.
Create a crisp wing using tape
In order to make your winged eyeliner to look neat and crisp, all you will need is a scotch tape to do the trick. Using the scotch tape is a tried and tested way to apply winged eyeliner. Cut two small pieces of scotch tape and stick them on the outer corner of your eyes as an extension of your bottom lash line. Now that you have the edge to create the perfect wing along the side of scotch tape, you can create the perfect winged liner. Just make sure to remove the tape off your face only when the eyeliner has dried.
Use your bobby pin
Using a bobby pin is one of the quickest ways to apply winged eyeliner. Apply some eyeliner on the winged tip of your bobby pin; press it against the outer corner of your eyes to create the wing. Keep the short tip on the top and this way you will have a rough sketch of the wing tip that you can connect to the rest of the top line.
