Our hair can give us a pretty hard time on more than just one occasion. While we understand it is quite needy and craves for attention the most time, it simply doesn’t mean you have to give in all the time. The most frustrating thing about having to deal with hair is washing it every third day. Normally, it takes full 3 days for our hair to become a greasy mess and most girls would happily head to the shower and wash their hair off with a shampoo, there are a few of us who are just too lazy to even give it a thought and would gladly skip the hair wash part while taking a shower. However, this feels too good to be true. Skipping on hair wash on day three seems like an undoable thing, but believe us, it can actually become true, only if you add a few tips to your hair routine. Rocking your tresses after day 3 is very much possible. We have jotted down a list of some tips that will keep your hair looking fresh in between washing.
Apply dry shampoo on your hair on day 1
The first step to ensuring that your hair doesn’t turn greasy on the third day is to spritz some dry shampoo on your tresses on the first day itself. Also, be generous with the amount and spritz it on your scalp when it’s clean and oil-free. Sometimes, the best way to protect something from getting damaged is to take a few preventive measures beforehand. And that is what exactly a dry shampoo does. Applying dry shampoo on the first day will make sure that your hair doesn’t get greasy or dirty by absorbing the excess oil and dirt. After spritzing the product on your scalp, let it sit for about 5 minutes and run a comb through your tresses to distribute the product.
Use a leave-in conditioner
After you’re done spritzing a dry shampoo over your entire scalp, follow it up by applying some leave-in conditioner. While dry shampoo will help your scalp by soaking excess oil and dirt, a leave-in conditioner won’t only keep the frizziness at bay but will also add some texture and volume to your hair. This is one of the most important steps to follow, therefore, make sure that you don’t skip it.
Don’t keep your hair in a bun
While we know that letting your hair loose can be quite annoying while sleeping, you shouldn’t tie it in a bun either. When you tie your hair in a bun while sleeping, your scalp gets pretty sweaty, which won’t only make your hair very icky but also makes your scalp dirty, because of all the build-up. In addition to that, when you tie your hair, no matter what hair tie you use, there’s always going to be a dent, which can be extremely annoying, to say the least, and can only be gotten rid of post hair wash. Therefore, instead of tying your hair in a bun, make a loose braid, which won’t only keep your hair sweat-free but will also add natural curls to your strands.
Use an SLS and paraben-free shampoo
One of the best ways to ensure that your hair scalp remains fresh for much longer is by using the right hair products. And when it comes to your shampoo, you should always pick the formula that is SLS and paraben-free. Using such a formula will not only keep your scalp free of build-up but will also make sure that both your scalp and tresses remain fresh for more than just 3 days.
